On August 30, a roundtable discussion on International-legal aspects of cultural heritage protection in Uzbekistan and EU countries was held in the framework of project “Tashkent Jean Monnet Center of Excellence for European Studies.

Representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Copyright Protection of Artists, Creators and Performers, the International Law Association of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Law University, “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Samarkand, and professors and students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy participated at this event. During the roundtable, international-legal aspects of cultural heritage protection and the role of UNESCO, international-legal issues of returning cultural heritage objects transported abroad, the importance of cultural heritage in the development of tourism, as well as the advanced experience of EU countries in this regard, moreover their implementation to Uzbekistan and other issues related to the topic were discussed.
