Komiljon Karimov is a Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. His experience includes working for Senior Officer positions at UN agencies such as UNESCO and UNICEF where he dealt with the development challenges in the area of Education and Healthcare.
He has an extensive research interest and experience in the field of international education and he is the author of dozens of publications in this field. Mr. Karimov holds a PhD degree in Political Sciences and International Relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent.
Vasila Mamatkasimova has PhD in Philology from Tashkent State University named after Mirzo Ulugbek.
Previously she worked as a Teacher of French at Faculty of Foreign Philology, Department of French Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan, and Lecturer at the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages at UWED.
Currently she is a Head of the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages at University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
She has great interest in French philology and literature, EU soft power in use of language instruments, modern French philology.
Nargiza Sodikova is a PhD Student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy researching the EU's strategic interests in Central Asia. She holds BA and MA degrees in International Relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
In her research she examines EU’ strategy towards CA, EU’s Global Strategy, regional security and sustainable development in Central Asia.
Research interests include EU studies, concept of resilience, security studies, economic development and governance.
Head of the Department of Contemporary History and International Studies of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 1996. graduated with honors from the history faculty of the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute and, on the basis of the direction, worked as a teacher at the Department of History and Law of this institute. In 1997-2000. studied at the graduate school of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. and in 2000. defended his Ph.D. thesis. Since 2001 - Senior Researcher and in 2003-2006. - Doctoral student of the Institute.
In 2012. defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Cooperation of Uzbekistan with foreign countries and international organizations in ensuring stability and sustainable development in Central Asia (1991-2010)" in the specialty "History of Uzbekistan" and the first in Uzbekistan in the specialty "History of international relations and foreign politicians".
M. Rakhimov's scientific research is related to the study of modern history and international relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, geopolitics and interstate relations in Central Asia.
Dr Akram Umarov is Senior Research Fellow at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Previously he worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He received Master’s and PhD Degrees in International Relations at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. He also graduated with MA degree in Governance, Development and Public Policy from Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex (UK).
He has great interest in security studies, conflict management, public diplomacy, Afghanistan, Central Asian studies, CIS countries, public administration, global security, peace and development.
Previously he worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1995-2005) and as a political expert with some national research institutions. He was a visiting fellow at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies of the Monterey Institute of International Studies in 2002.
He is the author of several articles on international and regional security issues.
Dr. Faridun Sattarov holds an MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and a PhD in Political Philosophy from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. Dr. Sattarov has worked as a research fellow at the UNESCO Bioethics and Ethics of Science Section, the University of Liverpool School of Law, the University of Twente, and the Technological University of Eindhoven. His philosophical research encompasses a range of multidisciplinary issues and topics in areas of political philosophy, ethics of technology, international affairs, and policy analysis.
Currently Dr. Sattarov is the Chair of the Department of Political Science of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Currently Musurmon Hurramov is a PhD student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on the specialty of History of International relations and foreign policy.
Mr Musurmon Hurramov worked as a head specialist of HR department at UWED and Chief Methodist of the Department of Political Foundations of Public Administration at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Musurmon Hurramov holds MA and BA degrees in international relations and foreign politics from UWED in Tashkent.
His research areas include history of interstate relations of Central Asian Region, Uzbekistan’s new foreign policy and evolution of Uzbek-Kazakh relations.
