Business Etiquette in negotiations – what to look out for…

Date: 7 December 2021

Time: 16:00 – 17:00 Moscow time | 14:00 – 15.00 Brussels time

This is an online event organized by the Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (BLCC & BLRB)

Trade relations between merchants of our lands go back to the Middle Ages and was actively strengthened during the Hanseatic League. High level contacts between Belgian-Luxembourg lands and Russia began in the early 18th century, when Peter the Great visited Brussels, Antwerp and Spa. Diplomatic relations were established between Belgium and the Russian Empire in 1853, and diplomatic relations between Russia and Luxembourg were established in 1891 (the Duchy gained its independence in 1867).

At the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, trade and economic relations were developing rapidly. By 1913, already about 200 companies with the participation of Belgian and Luxembourg capital were active in Russia.

Today more than ever, trade and industrial relations between Russia and the Belgian-Luxembourg Economic Union are stable and develop reliably with the support of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Russia (for Russia and Belarus).

Negotiation characteristics can also be slightly perceptible in a new business environment where entrepreneurs must maintain business etiquette.

Proper local business etiquette is essential for attracting new partners and clients in an foreign business community. In order to find new partners and clients, it is vital for a foreign entrepreneur to demonstrate appropriate business etiquette.
